Medical Product Design: Blood Pressure Monitor
Project type
Blood Pressure Monitor
Date
Fall 2024
Location
Pittsburgh
Throughout the fall semester, I worked on designing and constructing a blood pressure monitor housing and cuff as part of my Medical Product Design course, BIOENG 1024. Each week, we developed new skills and deepened our understanding of bioengineering design principles. The project progressed from initial sketches to foam core models and ultimately to 3D-printed prototypes, culminating in a fully realized blood pressure monitor design. Additionally, I gained valuable skills in soft goods fabrication, including sewing, which I applied to create the blood pressure monitor cuff. This course integrated a diverse range of engineering techniques, enabling me to bring my design to life while expanding my technical and practical expertise.
